EA home

The “Casa EA” project, designed by architect Francesco Zanotto, involved the organic and functional reorganisation of the interior spaces of a stunning penthouse located on the outskirts of the historic centre of Bassano del Grappa. The original construction dates back to the late 1960s.
The design concept stems from the desire to provide a simple solution to the complex need of inhabiting spaces in a functional way while making them welcoming and comfortable at the same time. Simplicity is favoured over opulence, with clean lines being used both in the creation of new spaces and in the design of furniture elements, which often blend seamlessly with the structure, contributing to a cohesive formal and compositional unity.
The cornerstone of the project is the central “block,” distinguished by a textured surface treatment with a strong material effect. This element serves as the focal point around which the daily life of the inhabitants revolves, while also defining the various living functions. Additionally, the block plays an essential functional role, discreetly concealing key secondary spaces such as the laundry room, a small storage area, and a wardrobe.
The most significant rooms, including the spacious open-plan living and kitchen area as well as the bedrooms, are beautifully illuminated by natural light streaming in through large openings and, at night, by carefully designed artificial lighting.
As in most of the architect’s projects, the ultimate goal is to create spaces that envelop you with their embrace—places where families long to return as soon as possible and where friends always feel welcome and at ease.
The success of a well-executed project is inevitably linked to the availability and trust of the owners. Thanks to their collaboration, it was possible to achieve such a satisfying result!
