Summer: the year’s catchiest song, breezy joyful outfits, bistro-style colourful tables. A desire for lightness.

The warmest, sunniest months invite us to be bold — starting with the colours we wear.

Even those faithful to whites, blues or earthy neutrals are tempted by brighter accents.

Some even refresh their home’s accessories and fabrics with the change of season.

It’s undeniable that colour — beyond minimal or monochromatic trends — is part of our lives.

Fashion collections follow the seasons, and even in interior design, a “colour of the year” is chosen.

Azkonobel’s Global Aesthetic Centre, a Dutch multinational in the paint industry, conducts yearly research on global socio-economic trends to identify current “colour needs”.

Since colour plays such a big role in our lives, why not add a few titles on the subject to your summer reading list?

Mandala patterns, flowers and butterflies, motivational quotes — adult colouring books have become a popular stress reliever.

Because colour is known to be therapeutic — adding joy to every daily gesture.
