Sophisticated and modern design
LONDRA PROJECT: MORE THAN A SIMPLE TABLE
There are many spaces on which a table can be used, both internals and externals. Yet, most of all a table is the symbol of the conviviality.
In our heritage it goes along with chairs but other cultures welcome their hosts sitting on carpets or knelling down on pillows. Therefore, it’s a fundamental part of the furniture and it can be declined in the most varied shapes and can be built experimenting the union of various materials. Three components are needed in the design of a table: durability, functionality and aesthetic. In fact, a table is used all day long, to cook, to dine, to play or to study. Londra is a table completely oak wood made, available in four different colour finish. It’s an extendable table having therefore two advantages: it can be adapted to the number of the dining people and further, the legs don’t interfere with the hosts.
The extension leaves are hosted below the top. In particular, the top is a detail that gives a modern character to the whole. It has a 45 °cut shaped edge, which rests lightly on the structure. Indeed, a wooden top is always pleasant for the grain and the visible knots, and besides, it will never be cold to the touch, unlike a glass top. The warmth that a wooden element is able to give to any environment is suitable for both classic furnishings and for spaces where prevail white tones and more technical finishes such as concrete and resins. The choice of the chairs and the tone of the wood finish will make the difference in defining the environment: elegant and sophisticated or natural and informal spaces. Nowadays the table is no longer chosen for exclusive use in the kitchen; it is a piece of furniture that often must be capable of being integrated even in a study and work environment. The clean lines make the Londra table extremely versatile, becoming a table pleasant to see even when not used.
